Vynagrip matting
200sqm of tough Vynagrip matting has been laid by SABIC Petrochemicals in its UK Teesside plant. When complete, the plant will be the largest in the world for the manufacture of low density polyethylene. The Vynagrip matting, supplied by Plastex distributor Arco Teesside and in a special bespoke yellow colour, has been used for both the main workshops in the Aromatics manufacturing, as well as for all weather access on the exterior loading jetties and mooring dolphins.

Vynagrip matting was chosen because of its proven performance in tough environments, such as industrial plants and external walkways. Not only is it maintenance free but it will contour easily over rough and uneven surfaces, while the open grid easily dissipates water and spillage. Performance in practice shows that the matting can be used in all weather conditions, including snow and ice, to provide safe and permanent slip resistance underfoot.

For SABIC's workshops, the extra aggressive and deep etched surface provides the UK's highest rating for slip resistant performance R11 when tested to DIN 51130. The matting has an open grid through which liquid spillage and production waste are dissipated. It is extremely hard wearing and resistant to oil and chemicals. Being comfortable to stand on, it will reduce physical fatigue which in turn improves concentration and productivity. The matting is easily cut and shaped to fit around machines and floor fixtures.

Vynagrip is available in widths of 60, 91 and 122cm and in 10m rolls or individual modules with accessories to suit. Standard colours are red, blue and black while Vynagrip Plus has safety alert yellow edges.
