Working with Architects Ferguson Mann, developers Urban Splash have transformed the Grade II listed former Imperial Tobacco building into a collection of 270 studio, one and two bedroom apartments. The project includes an artificial lake, barbeque areas, outdoor gym and nature trails.
A major feature of the building is the glass-fronted balconies which wrap round each level. Since they have metal floors, the developers needed to find a user-friendly surface covering.
Flooring specialist Technix recommended Frontrunner XT because it is safe, permanently weatherproof and comfortable to stand on as well as being heel and wheel-proof. It is manufactured from 100% vinyl with highly a slip resistant deeply embossed surface and is ideal for exterior walkways, balconies and decking.
The open grid matting is loose laid and contours over uneven or rough surfaces making it quick, easy and cost effective to install. Frontrunner XT forms part of the popular Frontrunner Entrance Flooring System range which comprises several options for different interior and exterior applications. All can be trimmed easily on site to fit any shape, such as within revolving doors or irregular shaped matwells and comply with the new Equalities Act.
