Plastex Matting News
Frontrunner Brush matting is helping to reduce maintenance at one of Belgium's largest hospitals.
The Jan Portaels Ziekenhuis is a very large public hospital near Brussels. Here, the problem was to find a better alternative to the existing external matting.
The solution required a high performance matting to act as an effective primary barrier for scraping dirt, wet and snow from shoes. The aim was to combat this initial severe soiling in order to improve the effectiveness of the secondary entrance matting inside and thereby reduce maintenance.
The solution suggested by Plastex Belgium distributor Sanimat was Frontrunner Brush.
This tough and aggressive external matting has high quality 6.6mm nylon brushes within a vinyl grid. The matting was fitted within the existing matwell and can be lifted easily to remove dirt which has been shed through the grid instead of being transferred inside. It is heel and stick-proof and provides easy access for wheel-chairs.
Other entrance matting options include internal use Frontrunner Plus which has absorbent insets instead of brushes within the vinyl grid, internal or external Frontrunner 100% vinyl grid and external Frontrunner XT which is similar but with extra deep tread for increased slip resistance.
All the mattings in the Plastex entrance flooring system can be trimmed easily on site to fit any shape, such as within revolving doors, can be surface laid or recessed and will contour over uneven or rough surfaces, while remaining stable underfoot.
