Plastex Matting News
Slip resistant Heronrib matting is playing a vital role in the Rye Sports Centre. This facility, one of several operated by the Freedom Leisure Group, has been refurbished with close attention paid to health and safety.
The reason for installing the matting throughout the changing-rooms is to reduce any danger of slipping on the wet floor tiles.
Heronrib is the well proven solution for reducing accidents associated with slipping, particularly around swimming-pools, in changing-rooms and shower areas. The open grid format has raised profile underbars which allow water to drain away easily in all directions.
This means that the embossed surface remains relatively dry and highly slip resistant. The matting is very hardwearing yet comfortable to stand on. In addition, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal additives ensure it is hygienic for bare feet. The 1.2m wide x 10m long rolls supplied at Rye meant that 12sqm pieces could be installed which reduced the number of seams. The matting is simple to cut or shape on site and easy to roll up when cleaning the subfloor.
Heronrib is available in several colours, supplied in 10m rolls and widths of 50cm, 1m and 1.22m.
