Plastex Matting News
Trackgrip is a new slip resistant matting specially designed and manufactured in the UK for use in London Underground's maintenance depots.
Developed from its existing proven range of slip resistant flooring, the product was initially trialled at the Cockfosters depot. Now, proven to be very effective in this demanding environment, is being rolled out to another large depot at Northfields.
Trackgrip has similar characteristics than Vynagrip safety matting, also manufactured by Plastic Extruders. It features a wider grid to allow for dirt and detritus to fall through the gaps thereby removing slip and trip hazards. Furthermore, a highly visible edging clearly delineates the edge to warn workers when they are approaching the maintenance pit.
In addition to acting as a slip resistant surface and visual safety marker, Trackgrip also has anti-fatigue properties, which is important to the engineers that have to stand for long periods on an otherwise bare concrete floor. The matting is also very hard wearing, resistant to oil, acid and chemicals and can be easily rolled up to facilitate cleaning beneath.
Black Trackgrip is manufactured using up to 100% post-industrial recycled material and is fully recyclable, making it a sustainable and environmentally-sensitive choice. It is available in 5m or 10m roll lengths; 60, 91 and 122cm wide.
